The Newfoundland Geek Society's activities are entirely member directed. Our fellow geeks suggest things they'd like to see happen, and we do what we can to make it a reality. Our movie and gaming nights have thus far been the most popular, but we're hoping to branch into LARP, and wherever else our members might take us! We're also involved in activism, showing the world that geeks are good people. Far too often we hear about how video games are to blame for societies problems, when this is not the case. 99% of gamers are (most) sane people, who do a lot of good for the community. We're involved in charity work, with proceeds going to groups such as Kids Help Phone. We also aim to be a place where teens who are into the geek life style can go and be accepted.
